Susana Raffali: We reach a point where the strategy to eat is prostitution

The nutritionist and adviser to the Caritas organization, Susana Raffali, lamented this Friday that many mothers have to prostitute themselves to be able to feed their children. He also said that child malnutrition is a serious problem that affects the Venezuelan population.

She stressed, in an interview with TV Venezuela, that the malnutrition seen on the streets "delegitimizes the power of any administration in the country. Staying in power at the cost of keeping the nation hungry is something we need to stop. We do not believe that there is any political project of a country that merits these levels of suffering, "she said.


She noted that, according to Cáritas, "severe acute malnutrition is at 12.7% again, but the total deficit is in more than 60% of children under five years ..., when the public health emergency threshold announced by the WHO is fifteen %". She also explained that the figure is handled in the parishes that they visit.
 The specialist said that many mothers have resorted to prostitution to feed their children. "I insist, we are getting very deep inside, not only the imminent risk of not dying, but of your life ending for this, even if you do not die. That a mother and a child runs out of life because of that feeling of emptiness that leaves you no one to solve, that leaves you nobody cares that you have hunger, that lets you prostitute, "she warned. And he continued: "We have arrived at this point, in the spectrum of strategies that people are using to eat, to resort to the last thing you have left that is your personal integrity. She is a mother who prostitutes her daughter for this, or is a woman who emigrates to prostitute herself in Cúcuta or in Putumayo, "he said.
 Finally, Raffali stressed that when a citizen wants to help another Venezuelan who sees them eating from garbage, the best option is to resort to the organizations that already exist with the help they want to contribute.

Susana Raffali: Llegamos a un punto en el que la estrategia para poder comer es la prostitución

 La nutricionista y asesora de la organización Cáritas, Susana Raffali, lamentó este viernes que muchas madres tengan que prostituirse para poder alimentar a sus hijos. Además aseguró que la desnutrición infantil es un grave problema que afecta a la población venezolana.

 

Raffali destacó, en entrevista para TV Venezuela, que la desnutrición que se ve en las calles   “deslegitima el poder de cualquier administración del país. Mantenerse en el poder a costa demantener a la nación con hambre, es algo que necesitamos que pare. No creemos que hayningún proyecto político de país que amerite estos niveles de sufrimiento”, sostuvo.

Señaló que, según Cáritas, “la desnutrición aguda grave está en 12.7 % nuevamente, pero el déficit total está en más del 60 % de niños menores de cinco años…, cuando el umbral de emergencia de salud pública que da a conocer la OMS es 15 %”. Asimismo explicó que es la cifra se maneja en las parroquias que visitan.
La especialista precisó que muchas madres han recurrido a la prostitución para poder alimentar a sus hijos. “Insisto, a nosotros nos está calando muy muy adentro, no solamente el riesgo inminente de no morir, sino de que se te acabe la vida por esto, aunque no te mueras. De que a una madre y a un niño se le acabe la vida por esa sensación de vacío que te deja que nadie resuelva, que te deja que a nadie le importe que tengas hambres, que te deja prostituirte”, alertó.
Y prosiguió: “Ya llegamos en este punto, en el espectro de estrategias que la gente está usando para poder comer, a recurrir a lo último que te queda que es tu integridad personal. Es una madre que prostituye a su hija para esto, o es una mujer que emigra a prostituirse en Cúcuta o en Putumayo”, dijo.
Finalmente Raffali destacó que cuando un ciudadano quiera ayudar a otro venezolano que ve comiendo de la basura, la mejor opción es recurrir a las organizaciones que ya existen con la ayuda que desee aportar.
